Rogich Middle School is a part of the Clark County School District, located in Las Vegas, Nevada. Rogich MS is dedicated to setting the standard for rigorous education, and according to the Nevada School Performance Framework has received the highest possible Five Star designation.

Thank you to those who joined us on Thursday, October 13th, for our monthly Parent Advisory Committee Meeting (PAC). We enjoy sharing the many exciting things going on at Rogich Middle School, along with emphasizing a strategy taught in the classroom. This month we emphasized the Close Reading Strategy used across the curriculum. Spend some time with your students as they read and annotate using their Chromebooks.
PAC meetings are held the second Thursday of each month at 10:00 A.M.

November 21-25 Thanksgiving Break
Monday, October 17th begins our annual Rogich Pink Week. Students are asked to wear pink throughout the week as we promote an overall awareness of breast cancer. The week will conclude with our annual Pink Parade on Friday afternoon along with an after-school dance in the cafeteria.
Please mark your calendars for October 26th when School Board Trustee, Patrice Tew, will be speaking to our community regarding Assembly Bill 394 - Plan to Reorganize the Clark County School District. She will be speaking to us at 9:30 A.M. and again at 6:00 P.M. at Givens Elementary School. We encourage you to attend one of the designated meetings to gain additional insight into AB 394 to better understand how our schools will be affected.
On November 4th, Dr. Wint from the Cleveland Clinic will be speaking to our students and parents about brain health as part of our “Penny for Your Thoughts” to raise an awareness about Alzheimer’s Disease. Please join us first or second period to hear Dr. Wint. November 10th will be our annual Penny for Your Thoughts Fundraiser benefitting the Cleveland Clinic.
The annual Rogich Turkey Trot is scheduled for Friday, November 18th. Come run with us!

Chromebook Expectations for Students
· Students should expect to use their ChromeBook daily.
· ChromeBooks are not permitted in the cafeteria and should be placed in student’s locker during the lunch period.
· ChromeBooks are to be charged at home and ready to go at the beginning of the day.
· Students who do not have their ChromeBook for classroom activities will not be permitted to use their cell phone.
· Failure to bring ChromeBook to class may result in lost points for assignments.
· Students must carry their ChromeBook in the case assigned to them.
· Do not store power charging devices in the carrying case. It will cause damage.
· Student ID Cards must be placed in transparent card holder on ChromeBook case.
District E Parent Meeting
Board of Schools Trustee, Patrice Tew, would like to invite you to attend her District E Parent Meeting on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at 9:30 A.M. or 6:30 P.M., in the Multipurpose Room at Givens Elementary School located at 655 Park Vista Dr., Las Vegas 89138. Topics of discussion will be an update on the Reorganization of the CCSD (AB394) and Suicide Intervention Assessment Protocol Training. There will also be an open discussion period for you to address any concerns you may have about these or other topics.
